Unfortunately,
NCI does not provide individual captions for home videos. The technical
process for captioning does not allow us to add captions to an existing
videotape.
When NCI creates captions for the home
video industry, the captions are placed on an original master tape provided
to us by the video distributor. The distributor then takes the captioned
master tape and makes copies to send out to the video stores for sale
or rent to consumers. Since the video material is copyrighted, the film
distributor would have to give their permission to have the video captioned.
If there is a video you want captioned, you should write to the producer
or distributor and let them know.
